1) Register your pool or spa with council

Your pool or spa needs to be registered with your local council as soon as you have it constructed or installed.

2) Pool/Spa Safety Barrier First Visit & Report

This is an onsite visit at your premises where one of our experienced Inspectors:

Conduct our comprehensive compliance assessment – up to 50 point check (depending on your applicable barrier standard)
Provide you a comprehensive written report on your pool or spa barrier compliance to the applicable barrier standard
Provide recommendations to you on rectifications required to bring your pool/spa barriers to the applicable barrier standard
Recommend experienced contractors for required rectifications so that your pool/spa barriers comply with the applicable barrier standard
Provide you with the Certificate of Compliance if your barriers are found to be compliant to the applicable barrier standard

*Did you know that in many instances, 90% of pool/spa barriers are found not to comply with their applicable barrier standard and would require some rectification works.

A country surcharge may apply if the site location is outside of Metropolitan Melbourne

3) Subsequent Inspection Visit

This is a re-inspection visit at your premises where one of our experienced Inspectors:

Conduct our comprehensive compliance assessment – up to 50 point check (depending on your applicable barrier standard)
Provide you with the Certificate of Compliance if your barriers are found to be compliant to the applicable barrier standard
And if not, to provide you an updated written report on the rectifications required to bring your pool/spa barriers to the applicable barrier standard
Recommend experienced contractors for required rectifications so that your pool/spa barriers comply with the applicable barrier standard

*Did you know that, 50% of pool/spa barriers are found not to comply with their applicable barrier standard even after the rectification works undertaken by pool/spa owners themselves. As such, we recommend that you only use experienced contractors to conduct these set of works instead of trying to DIY.

A country surcharge of $110 may apply if the site location is outside of Metropolitan Melbourne

Certificate of barrier compliance in Boroondara, Whitehorse and Manningham Council areas.

4) Register your pool or spa Compliance Certificate with council

Once you have received your Certificate of Compliance from Pool Safety Victoria, this needs to be registered with your local council.

We do this on your behalf as part of our service, including the administration of all council charges.

5) Building permit consultancy and application
